Scent Descriptions

Some quick notes:

Fragrances that list patchouli as the primary fragrance do not lend thenselves well to light colors as the patchouli we use is very strong and therefore dark colored.

When you desire to use the two scent blending option the first fragrance you choose should be the primary fragrance you wish to smell.

If you desire a blend of more than 2 scents, please email us at customerservice@mysticcandlery.com with your blend request and we will make arrangements for you to order it.

If you submit a blend request via the site and we REALLY think it's not going to turn out well we will contact you before we make the candles. Some scents sound like they will go together well but in practice don't turn out as expected. This way you are not committed to a potential oops.

ACORN HARVEST: A warm earthy aroma with fragrances of nuts and buttery vanilla

ANCIENT SPICE: A spicy blend of patchouli, sandalwood and cinnamon which creates a wonderful manly fragrance.

AFRICAN MUSK: Musk with a hint of sandalwood and patchouli

AKILA: Created by Debbie from Connecticut, named for her daughter, Sandalwood and smooth vaniila start this one off, add a touch if patchouli and cinnamon to finish.

ANTIQUE LACE: A romantic blend of jasmine and fresh vanilla with a hint of musk

APACHE TEARS: A strong fragrance that starts off with apache tears (the flower), jasmine, violets and rose ending with a tiny bit of patchouli

APPLE: Just like a granny smith apple

APPLE CRISP: Juicy red apple with buttercream and cinnamon. A fall favorite.

AUTUMN MAGIC: A complex blend starting with Oak, lemon and apple with middle notes of anise, cinnamon and ginger finished with musk and vanilla

BABY LOTION: A great representation of the trademarked baby magic brand

BABY POWDER: Just like the name says

BALSAM PINE: A simple pine fragrance, makes a good base for christmas and winter blends. HINT: cinnamon in the kitchen and balsam in the living room makes a great transition.

BAMBOO GRASS: A perennial favorite. Begins with line, mint and ozone, balanced with french lavender and rounded off with a base of white musk. Note; Unfortunately this fragrance is no longer made so when we run out, it's gone

BAMBOO TEAK: A contemporary fragrance of citrus and ripe olives in a sandalwood base

BAYBERRY: A blend of douglas fir, bayberry, nutmeg and ginger

BERGAMOT: Bergamot with a hint of citrus

BERGAMOT AND TARRAGON:  A spa-like fragrance with a  top note of tarragon and bergamot with middle note of of grapefruit, lime and jasmine well rounded on a base of oakmoss and bamboo

BLACKBERRY SAGE: Strong top note of blackberry, mulberry and orange with a touch of nutmeg, rose and sage

BLACK MAGIC: A magical blend of sandal wood, ylang ylang and patchouli finished with baby powder and vanilla

BLUE BERRY: A simple fragrance of blueberry, but don't put it on your pancakes

BRIDES BOUQUET: A light floral starting with pear, apricot and rose, supported by orchids, bird of paradise and ending with english ivy, sandalwood and musk

BUTTERFLY GARDEN: LiLy and sage tops start this one with tones of cassis, sweet amber and orange flower

BUTT NAKED: You will swear your are at the beach! Cocoa butter and tropical fruits.

CANDY CANE: Peppermint, sweet strawberries and a pinch of vanilla make it perfect.

CANTALOUPE: Fresh off the vine cantaloupe.

CARNATION: A strong, sweet, carnation based floral.

CEDAR: The warm scent of newly cut cedar with a bit of light musk.

CELESTIAL: A clean uplifting light floral blend that will do wonders for your spirit.

CHAMOMILE: Just picked chamomile flowers and green herbs. Great for those times when you need a calming influence.

CHRISTMAS: The scent of the season. Balsam fir and pine oak on a background of apples, cinnamon and clove make this a truely festive scent.

CINNAMON: Just plain cinnamon.

CINNAMON-CLOVE: Created by our customer Yvonne from New Hampshire. This blend of our cinnamon and clove has become a winter favorite.

CITRONELLA: Pure and simple. Bugs be-gone.

CITRONELLA-THYME: Citronella to keep the bugs away and thyme to keep the people around.

CITRUS-POMEGRANATE: Lime, grapefruit and pomegranate.

CITRUS-SAGE: Mandarin orange, bergamot and grapefruit on a sage base.

CLOVE: A strong clove with a light touch of cinnamon and ginger for balance.

COCONUT: Just plain coconut. Good for use as a base for tropical blends.

CONCORD GRAPE: Smells like real grape, just don't try to make wine with it.

COTTON BALLLS: The scent of clean cotton sheets dried in a spring breeze.

COTTON FLOWER: A delicate scent of crushed cotton flowers.

COUNTRY CLOTHESLINE: Top notes of kaffir lime and lemon followed by baby powder, african violet and finished with jasmine and very light musk.

CRACKLIN' BIRCH: This one is for the guys. Fresh cut birchwood with bergamot, orange and lemon on a base of patchouli, vetivier and tonka bean.

CRANBERRY COBBLER: Bake yours, smell ours and compare. Perfect for fall and winter.

CUKES AND MELONS: Exactly what the names says.

DAFFODIL: A field of daffys in full bloom.

DARK KNIGHT: A deep patchouli based fragrance with earthy undertones.

DENIM: A complex blending of fresh spring breeze, lemon, lime, cyclamen and water lily sitting on a base of soft woods, amber and sheer musk.

DRAGONS BLOOD: Based on the popular herb with nothing else.

DESIRE: A kama sutra creation consisting of citrus, vetivier and rose geranium with notes jasmine and lily-of-the-valley on a base of amberguise, vanilla and musk.

DR FEELGOOD: Another of the kama sutra line, This is a more masculine scent. Wood and musk over a jasmine, water lily and tea rose base.

EGG NOG: Sniff it, then open the fridge and drink some of yours. (just not too much   (-=

EGYPTIAN GODDESS:  A light delicate musk with a hint of herb

EGYPTIAN MUSK:  A true Egyptian musk, The strongest we have found.

ENERGIZING: Spearmint, peppermint, wintergreen and citrus will get you going.

EUCALYPTUS: Newly picked eucalyptus leaves with a touch of lime to soften. Great for that nightime stuffy nose.

EVENING RAIN: A refreshing clean aroma with fresh rose, wisteria and cyclamen on a  foundation of sandalwood and vanilla.

FIG LYCHEE: The fruity scent of fig with chinese lychee. Well balanced and a tad spicy

FLYING GRASSHOPPER: We took the popular alcoholic beverage and made a candle.

FRENCH MARKET: A robust floral

FRENCH VANILLA: A rich, thick french vanilla

FRESH CLEAN LINEN: Subtle back notes of powder and musk with jasmine, lilac and peony. egyptian musk and french vanilla complete the experience.

FRESH COFFEE: The aroma of fresh brewed arabica coffee beans with a pinch of vanilla

FRESH STRAWBERRY: A single note of strawberry

GARNET AND GOLD: A light herbal scent

GEORGIA PEACH: Just peaches

GREEN AMBER: A blend of amber and herbs.

HAZELNUT: A strong hazelnut good for blending with fresh coffee.

HARVEST MOON: Pear, blueberry start this out, with a bit of pineapple for tartness and then juniper and eucalyptus all on a base of spruce, douglas fir, cedar and white musk

HERBAL GARDEN: An herb garden in bloom without the work

HOLLYBERRY: Holly greens and berries

HOME COMFORT: Relax by the fire with cinnamon-clove tamed by rose and ylang ylang

HONEY FLOWER: A blend of sweet raw honey and fresh picked wild flowers

HONEYMOON ROMANCE: A passion inspiring fragrance that begins with fresh fern and water lily, middle notes of rose, jasmine, clove and lilac on a sandalwood base.

HONEYSUCKLE: Just like the flowering bush. A springtime favorite. Makes a good base for floral blends

HOT BUTTER RUM: Smells just like the drink. Very popular during the winter months.

HOT FUDGE BROWNIE: May cause sudden chocolate cravings.

HYACINTH: Our blender got this one absolutely perfect. The best hyacinth we have ever smelled.

JASMINE: An exotic blend of fresh cut jasmine flowers on a base of rose petals

JUNIPER: A cool, refreshing blend of juniper greens and berries

LAVENDER: Made simply of sensual lavender flower

LEMON PUCKER: The aroma of newly squeezed lemon

LILAC: The strong, sweet scent of a lilac bush in full bloom

LILY OF THE VALLEY: Strong and sweet like the Easter flowers

LIME: As delicous as a slice of key lime pie

LITTLE PRINCESS: A light scent of amber, musk and vanilla with a base of violets and lily-of-the-valley

MAGNOLIA: Creates the sensation of being under a South Carolina magnolia tree

MANDARIN TIKI: Very popular, an upscale, complex aroma of mandarin orange, red currant, strawberry and blueberry entwined with watercresss and palm on a musky bottom note

MEDIEVAL ROSE: The enchanting aroma of hierloom roses

MERLINS MAGIC: The blender will not reveal the formula, this is an herbal mix that is male appropriate

MERMAID KISSES: Top notes of ocean mist, sea moss and dewey cyclamen followed by geranium, water mint, and coriander sitiing on a base of white cedar and vetivier

MINT AND CHAMOMILE: Mint leaves and chamomile flowers blended to sooth and refresh

MISBEHAVIN: Flirtatous and fruity, this sexy fragrance consists of candied apple and pomegranate balanced with fresh ivy and oak moss

MOONLIGHT PATH: Begins with top notes of delicate pink rose and asian jasmine enhanced with a soft violet undertone on a foundation of sweet musk and hard wood

MOON & STARS: Fresh notes of green clover and ivy followed by jasmine and vetivier

MORROCAN ROSE: An exotic rose blend coupled with peonies supported by musk and sandalwood

NAG CHAMPA: A wonderful aroma of incense, pachouli, sandalwood and dragons blood herb work together in this timeless classic

 NAUTICAL BREEZE: One of our customers sent us a sample of an old candle she had, our blender identified it as Tradewinds (tm) that bas far as we can tell is no longer made. She copied it for us and we call it Nautical Breeze. This is a male friendly scent.

OCEAN BREEZE: Salty marine notes and fresh rain coupled with a hint of strawberry and lime provide a well rounded presentation

ORANGE BLOSSOM: A delicate floral scent of orange tree in bloom, sometimes known as "Neroli"

PARCHMENT: A classy mens fragrance that is no longer made but we still have a limited quantity

PATCHOULI: An earthy aroma of true patchouli

PATCHOULI ROSE: Patchouli infused with rose petals

PASSION: Wake up your passion with this fragrant blend of lilac, gardenia, carnation and hyacinth on a rose base

PASSION MELON: A blend of apricot, fig, mango and mrtyle berry on a  base of passion fruit

PASSIONATE KISSES: Alluring, energetic and fun, passionate kisses starts with raspberry, blackberry and strawberry aceented with coconut and rose ending with vanilla and amber musk

PINEAPPLE: Just pineapple

PIPE TOBACCO: The warm smell of grandpas black canvendish pipe tobacco

POMEGRANATE: Just pomegranate 

PUMPKIN PIE: Sweet cream pumpkin complimented with nuances of nutmeg, cinnamon, clove and ginger witha finish of buttery vanilla

RASPBERRY ICE: Sun ripened raspberry, supproted by hints of apple, orange, ylang ylang, rose greenery and a slight touch of vanilla

RELAXATION: Let your worries melt away with our aromatherapy Relaxation. A combination fragrance and essential oils dominated by fresh lavender with a faint musk background

ROSEMARY: A strong scent of rosemary herb

SAGE: Sage leaf and nothing more

SANDALWOOD: A straight sandalwood that is great on its own or as a base for mixing

SANDY STONES: A clean fresh scent that is very strong, best for use in large rooms

SATIN SHEETS: A romantic blend of chocolates, complimented with violet, jasmine, musk, blackberries and vanilla

SENSUOUS BLUE: Makes the mood on those long nights together

SENSUOUS MAN: A spicy musk blend for men

SENSUOUS WOMAN: A floral musk for women

SEX ON THE BEACH: The tropical drink in a candle

SHEER SEDUCTION: A sensual floral of afircan violet and Lily-of-the-valley complimented with slight tones of kiwi, lime and grapefruit

SINUS RELIEF: Enough eucalyptus to keep a kowala bear happy plus some camphor and mint. Perfect for those stuffy nose nights

SNUG BY THE FIRE: The smell of an oak fire without the mess

SPICY CLOVE: A center scent of clove surrounded by cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice finished with a light musk, oakmoss and vetivier

STORMY NIGHTS: Top notes of ozone, spring rains and white flowers start this one out followed by a midsection of ylang ylang and tuberose on a foundation of patchouli and light musk

SUGAR COOKIE: Smells just like they came out of the oven

SWEET PEA: A spring garden full of sweet pea flowers

SWEETHEART ROSE: A perfect compliment to the real thing

TAYBERRY AND TEAK: A year round favorite. A very complex fragrance with a base of bamboo and teakwood followed by tayberry, blackberry and mulberry rounded out with clover and sweet grass

TROPICAL PATCHOULI: We thought the customer that came up with this was a tad off the main road, but it turned out so good we added it to the line and let her name it. A simple blend of patchouli and citrus

TULIP: A pleasant floral, with a primary scent of tulip accented with jasmine and osmanthus

ULTIMATE UNWIND: Created by Jonathan in Florida. This is a complex scent strating with our aromatherapy relaxation, then finished with patchouli, cedar and birch. very soothing.

VANILLA OAK: A creamy, woody fragrance with sandalwood, cedar and patchouli topped off with a tiny bit of cinnamon and eucalyptus to spice things up.

VANILLA SUGAR: A warm vanilla suitable for all occasions

VOODO LOVE: Create your own magic with this one. A simple blend of jasmine and lily-of-the-valley on a coconut base.

WATER HERBS: A light scent of herbs.

WHITE TEA AND GINGER: An exotic tea and ginger blend with a patchouli and cedarwood supprot

WILD PAGAN NITE: The blender will not tell us the formula, and we can't figure it out, but it is a favorite at the faire.

WINTER FROST: A wonderful peppermint blend

WINTER GARDEN: Top notes of lime and menthol with a midsection of fir and lavender on a base of eucalyptus and pine

WOLF SPIRIT: A woodsy/patchouli fragrance that is very popular at Josies Country store

YUZU: Also called japanese grapefruit, a little mandarin orange, lemon and bergamot bring out the citrus.
